These are carried out at mandatory stages during the erection of a building under an approved building permit,
and are required before the issuance of an occupancy certificate.

occupancy certificate. It should be noted that electrical and plumbing permits would also be required in most cases.
ELEVATOR INSPECTIONS
Most small buildings do not contain boilers or elevators. Therefore these inspections will not normally be required.
If necessary, inspections of these items are carried out at the requisite stages during installation, following issuance of a
building permit or in existing installations regular inspections are repeated at required intervals.
LICENSING
For the purposes of Hotel Licensing, Shop Licensing, and Licensing of premises for Music and Dancing, and for Liquor.
Officers of the Buildings Control Division of the Ministry of Works & Utilities conduct inspections on behalf of the
licensing on behalf of the licensing agencies. Requests for inspections should be made through these agencies
