Bahamas National Drug Council
Vision Total eradication of illicit drug use and drug trafficking within The Bahamas.
Mission To reduce the demand for illicit drug and substance abuse through the provision of prevention education, information and services to all residents.
Objectives 1. To determine and monitor the prevalence of drug abuse in the country.
2. To educate, particularly the adolescent public, on the hazards of drug abuse.
3. To reduce/eliminate drug abuse via collaborative efforts between governmental and non-governmental agencies.
4. To provide counselling and aftercare services to recovering addicts.
5. To initiate fora for the discussion and dissemination of information on and about the dangers of drug dependency and drug abuse.
6. To acquire financial assistance to implement the above programmes and properties to further the aims of the Councils.
