The Hon. Hubert A. Minnis Minister of Health Member of Parliament (FNM) Killarney New Providence Health, Ministry of Poinciana Building Meeting Street P. O. Dr. Hubert Minnis, Member of Parliament (M.P.) for the Killarney Constituency was sworn in as Minster of Health and Social Development by His Excellency the Hon. Arthur D. Hanna Governor-General on May 07, 2007, following the May 02, general election. He was born in Bain Town, Nassau, to Randolph Minnis and Rosalie North. He received his early education at Our Lady’s Primary School, Western Junior and St. Augustine College, Nassau. He obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of the West Indies (UWI) and MRCOG from London in 1985. He served as a consultant and Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Deputy Chief of Staff at the Princess Margaret Hospital. He is a former President of the Medical Association of The Bahamas, a member of the Medical Council, Chairman of the Hotel Corporation of The Bahamas and an associate lecturer at the UWI in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He worships at Resurrection Catholic Church.
