The Bahamas Maritime Authority and the Bahamas Ship Owners Association are offering attractive scholarships to young academically sound Bahamians who are keen to train for careers in the Shipping Industry – a sector that is gaining increasing national importance.

The scholarship is inclusive of tuition, fees, course material, accommodations and transportation costs. Successful candidates will follow a four year degree programme at the world-renowned State University of New York Maritime College in the United States. Upon completion of the degree, the qualified officers will be expected to serve on board a Bahamian flagged vessel for at least two years.
