Courtesy Calls

The Governor-General will happily receive citizens and others for courtesy calls on special occasions and events. Requests for such visits must be made in writing to the Secretary to the Governor-General at least four weeks in advance of the date the call is expected. Details about the reason for the Call and the names of all persons who are to be present should be provided.

Normally, the Governor-General receives such Callers in the Drawing Room provided the number of people in the Call does not exceed twenty (20). Larger groups will be received in the Ballroom.

Photographs during Calls will be the responsibility of the official photographer assigned by Bahamas Information Services, and therefore the use of personal cameras and cellular telephones is not allowed.

During such events, guests are asked to refrain from using personal cameras or cellular phones. Cell phones and cameras will not be allowed in the official areas when making courtesy calls.  The ADC will ensure the security of all such items for visitors.

Copies of official photographs may be requested from the Bahamas Information Services Office during normal hours.
