Education Minister tours primary schools

NASSAU, The Bahamas – Students, teachers and administrators of Sybil Strachan and Garvin Tynes Primary schools warmly welcomed the Hon. Jeff Lloyd, Minister of Education, to their classrooms Thursday, January 23, as he toured the southern district campuses.

 

During the short visits Minister Lloyd stopped by several grade levels including pre-school units and an autism unit. He interacted with the students – extending greetings, asking probing questions, testing their knowledge of spelling and engaging them in the alphabet, the months of the year and counting from 1-10.

 

Minister Lloyd also conversed with the schools’ principals, namely Alice Phillips, Garvin Tynes Primary School and Ricardo Rolle, Sybil Strachan Primary School.

 

Visits to New Providence Primary schools is an on-going initiative of Minister Lloyd.
