An Appliance Dealer Licence allows an individual or company to sell LPG gas operated appliances.  Persons interested in becoming an Appliance Dealer must apply to the Control Division of the Ministry of Works & Urban Development for an Appliance Dealer Licence.


Eligibility 

Anyone interested in becoming an Appliance Dealer.

Process 
  1. Complete and submit the application form along with the required documents listed below, to the Ministry of Works & Urban Development or local administrator. Freeport applications are submitted to the Grand Bahama Port Authority Limited.
  2. The Ministry of Works & Urban Development will process the application.  
  3. Once approval has been granted a licence issue fee is assessed.
  4. The Licence is then prepared for issue.  
  5. Applicants are notified via telephone that the Licence has been approved and can be collected upon payment of the Licence fee.
  6. The applicant must then make final payment and collect the Licence at the Control Division of the Ministry of Works & Urban Development. Family Island applicants collect approved permit and make final payment at the local government office.  

Note: The application may be refused or additional information requested at any stage of the application process.  The applicant is informed of any queries in writing via postal mail. The application will not move forward unless the requested information is supplied.

Supporting Documents 

The applicant shall furnish details of the type and make of appliances that he wishes to sell or hire out, together with evidence showing that such appliances will meet the basic standards.

Turn-around time 
An Appliance Dealer Licence is processed within two to three weeks following the submission of all documents. Please note that this may vary based on external agency requirements.
Deadline 
There are no deadlines for this service.
Related Fee(s) 

A fee of BS$30.00 is payable for an Appliance Dealer Licence.
