An Ultrasound is a scan given to investigate and monitor the foetus’ condition. It generally assesses the baby’s health, age, and possible birth defects, in addition to locating the placenta, detecting multiple pregnancies and checking amniotic fluid level. The machine produces sound waves which travel to the baby and bounce back, creating an image on the screen.
