GIS Day Proclamation

GIS DAY PROCLAMATIONS by the Heads of Government in The Commonwealth of The Bahamas is considered by the Centre as an opportunity to demonstrate support to promoting GIS and associated geospatial technologies. Moreover it is an opportunity to:

  • Educate the public on the importance of GIS as a decision making tool;
  • Recognize the important work that the Centre continues to perform particularly related to promoting GIS in the school system; and
  • Emphasize government's commitment to promoting modern technologies in the Civil Service.

Proclamations have been documented from both the Rt. Hon Hubert Alexander Ingraham M.P., Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and the Rt. Hon Perry, Gladstone Christies M.P., former Prime Minister of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
