PM Congratulates JCN 'Persons of the Year'

NASSAU, The Bahamas - Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis delivered congratulatory remarks during a ceremony honouring two leading clergymen who were named the Jones Communications Network Persons of the Year.

 

The ceremony was held Friday, January 18, 2019 at Jones Communications Media Center on University Boulevard, where Wendall Jones, CEO, bestowed the ‘Person of the Year’ title upon Rev. Dr. Timothy Stewart, and Pastor Leonard Johnson.

 

Governor General, Her Excellency the Most Hon. Dame Marguerite Pindling presented each honouree with a plaque saluting his contribution to nation building and the religious community.

 

Rev. Dr. Timothy Stewart is pastor of the historic Bethel Baptist Church, the oldest Baptist church in The Bahamas, and president of Progressive National Baptist Convention of the United States.

 

Pastor Leonard Johnson is the first clergyman from an English speaking territory to become Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Division of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

 

Prime Minister Minnis was named JCN ‘Person of the Year’ last year for his outstanding national contributions.
