NASSAU, The Bahamas -- Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Lanisha Rolle and Director of Culture Rowena Sutherland joined the 45th National Independence Committee in celebrating Shania Roberts becoming the first winner of the National Independence Recording Artists Search Competition, on July 19, 2018, having been chosen from about 80 participants and six finalists.  She was also the People's Choice Winner in the competition.  The event also recognized runner-ups De'Vaughn Rolle and Destin Pratt.  Pictured (from left) are Member of the Judging and Mentoring team Sammi "Starr" Poitier, Ms. Roberts, Minister Rolle, Chairman of the National Independence Secretariat the Hon.
