NEMA responds to Missing Persons’ Report in Media

NASSAU, The Bahamas - The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has reaffirmed that the Missing Persons’ Desk is being manned by the Central Detective Unit (CDU) of the Royal Bahamas Police Force.

 

The latest report on the number of missing persons officially released by NEMA was in its weekly snapshot dated Wednesday, September 25, 2019. Since then, NEMA has no longer officially issued a missing persons’ report.   

 

NEMA also confirms that the November 1, 2019 Situation Report being circulated in the media was not released by NEMA. Situation reports are internal documents designed to facilitate inter-agency coordination and situational awareness related to a particular event, in this case, Hurricane Dorian.
