Profile of Our Services

Princess Margaret Hospital Pharmacy offers a wide range of services in an outpatient setting including:

A. Drug Utilization
B. Patient Drug Profiles for allergies and interactions
C. Drug information and consultation

In-patient clinical services include support of our dialysis and oncology units, in- patient drug monitoring, therapeutic drug monitoring, drug order reviews and other support services

Our Mission
The mission of the Princess Margaret Hospital is to serve primarily the residents of the Bahamas and visitors to the country.

As a acute care institution, it provide primary, secondary and tertiary health care to the extent resources permit, recognizing the importance of maintaining the dignity of the individual at all times.

While care is offered to all at affordable price, it is also delivered without discrimination or the ability to pay.

The hospital serves as the trauma centre for the entire country, offering prompt emergency medical services. The hospital fosters education in Medical, Nursing and Allied Health disciplines as well as development for other staff members.

Our Objectives

I. To promote a clinical environment that is a focus of professional development through continuing education and in service training.
II. To support the newly formed clinical research unit and expand its capabilities in keeping with the mission of the hospital.  
III. To encourage the development of Interdisciplinary Team management in advancing patient care.

Biography of the Head of the Department


Vanria Rolle BSc., R.Ph., MHA.
Completed BSC. Pharmacy in 1974 at University of Florida (Gainesville, FL) and her MHA from the Western Connecticut State University in 2000. She has being practising pharmacy for 27 years both in a community pharmacy setting and hospital setting. She held several managerial positions before joining the staff at the Princess Margaret Hospital Pharmacy in 1996. She brings to the service a wealth of knowledge and experience in Pharmacy practice management, clinical trials research and continuing education planning.
