Bahamas High Commissioner Greenslade Presented Letters of Commission in Malta

VALLETTA, Malta - Wednesday 22nd May, 2019 -- H.E. Ellison E. Greenslade, QPM, presented a copy of his Letters of Commission appointing him as Non-Resident High Commissioner of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas to the Republic of Malta with residence in London and Letters of Recall of H.E. Eldred E. Bethel, former High Commissioner of The Bahamas to Malta to the Hon. Carmelo Abela, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion of Malta, on Wednesday 22nd May, 2019. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr. Marché A. Mackey, Third Secretary/Vice Consul at the High Commission.

High Commissioner Greenslade and Minister Abela discussed matters of mutual interest, including the strengthening of the countries’ diplomatic relations, which were established in September 2014; the commonalities of The Bahamas and Malta as Small Island States; The Bahamas’ bid for re-election to the Council of the International Maritime Organization (IMO); and upcoming elections to the United Nations Security Council, to which both The Bahamas and Malta are seeking election.
