Appointment of Mrs. E. Sally-Ann Lockhart-Pratt as Registrar General

The Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. E. Sally-Ann Lockhart-Pratt, to the position of, Registrar-General, in the Registrar General’s Department.
Mrs. Lockhart-Pratt’s qualifications include, a Bachelor of Arts in Banking and International Finance as well as a Master of Arts, Legal Studies.  She was called to both the English and The Bahamas Bar on 24 July, 2008 and 26 September, 2008 respectively.
Her work experiences include a stint in Off-shore Banking with experience in back-office administration, as well as Counsel and Attorney-at-Law with years of experience in Civil Litigation, Real Property, Corporate and Commercial Transaction, Probate and Family Matters.
As Registrar-General, Mrs. Lockhart-Pratt is expected to coordinate and manage the daily operations of all sections of the Registrar General’s Department by directing the workflow and task assignments to staff in the various units, inclusive of:-
• Administration, Accounts and Central Registry
• Non-Profit Companies and Friendly Societies
• Intellectual Properties
• Registration of Births, Deaths, Marriages and Maritime Marriages
• Certification
• Deeds and Documents
• Companies, inclusive of electronic filings
• Data Management
• Scanning and Management Information Systems
Mrs. Lockhart-Pratt is assuming the mantle of leadership in the Department at an exciting time as the government continues to marshal its efforts to enhance the quality and delivery of service thereby improving the ease of doing business in The Bahamas.
