As the Government of The Bahamas technical focal point for GIS in The Bahamas, the Centre has established its GIS software platform which is ESRI.  As such the Centre has secured discounts for GIS Software from ESRI regional provider. This discount is allowed for all Government Agencies as well as all Geospatial Advisory Committee Members. All government agencies are required to make GIS software requests through the BNGIS Centre.

Must be a government agency or member of the Geospatial Advisory Committee.

1. Contact the BNGISC to express interest in procuring GIS Software.
2. Submit official request stipulating name of GIS software and type and number of licenses.
3. The BNGIS Centre will request a quotation from Regional Provider.
4. Quotation is provided to the requesting agency.
5. Agency makes the necessary arrangements to purchase.

No application form is required for this service. An official letter from requesting agency is required outlining type of GIS software and number of licenses.  Agencies should also stipulate existing hardware specifications to ensure computer systems provide maximum GIS software requirement.

Fees will apply for the procurement of the GIS software.  Agencies should note that there are annual maintenance fees which should be made payable to the Regional Provider.
