Minister Campbell Hosts Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church to 'Working Meeting'

NASSAU, The Bahamas – Minister of Social Services and Urban Development, the Hon. Frankie A. Campbell met with senior executives of The Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church (BCMC) Thursday (March 28, 2019) at the Ministry’s Headquarters, Aventura Plaza.
 

 

The Working Meeting was a continuation of Minister Campbell’s personal mandate to meet with all of the Ministry's various existing stakeholder groups -- while simultaneously creating new partnerships -- since assuming office in July, 2018.

 

The Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church’s delegation was led by BCMC President, Reverend Carla Culmer, who was accompanied by Mrs. Hyacinth Winder-Pratt, General-Secretary, BCMC, and Dr. Zorene Curry, Director, BCMC.

 

Minister Campbell was accompanied by senior officials of the Ministry of Social Services and Urban Development and the Department of Social Services, among them: Ms. Sherrylee Smith, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Social Services and Urban Development; Mrs. Lillian Quant-Forbes, Director, Department of Social Services, Ministry of Social Services and Urban Development; Mrs. Charlamae Fernander, Assistant Director, Department of Social Services, Ministry of Social Services and Urban Development; and Mrs. Marva Brown, First Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Social Services and Urban Development.

 

The Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church is comprised of 34 churches throughout the major islands of The Bahamas. The Conference operates two schools in New Providence – Queen’s College and St. Michael’s Pre-School.  In addition, it operates the Bilney Lane Children’s Home and the Nurse Naomi Christie Home for Older Persons.

 

The BCMC also has Camp Symonette, the Celebrate Recovery Centre, and the Zion Children’s Home in Eleuthera and the Mission Camp, Makepeace, in Andros.
