NASSAU, The Bahamas – Chairman of the Bahamas Agricultural and Industrial Corporation (BAIC), Bishop Gregory Collie explained during a press conference at the Corporation on Friday, February 7, 2020, that BAIC has not undergone an external audit since 2014.

“I want you to be aware that since 2014, BAIC has not had an external audit to determine the position of the Corporation and the Board is working hard trying to get that resolved so the public will have a full accounting on what has transpired over those years here at BAIC.

“I also want to advise the press that we are getting ready to conclude a manpower audit in the Corporation because the Corporation is heavily overstaffed.  We have been trying to maintain the staff levels without having to terminate, but we will see what that audit says and we will let the public know what the conclusions are with respect to that audit.”

Bishop Collie stated that the BAIC hopes to have that employee audit completed by the end of the month, where it should be given to the Minister for review so that the Government could decide what actions need to be taken.

The financial audit is being undertaken by BDO Mann Judd and the Employee audit is being done by Strive Wise.
