Prime Minister the Most Hon Dr Hubert A Minnis took time out to observe the NEMA-UB Tech Squad at work in the National Emergency Operations Centre at the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, during the tracking of Hurricane Dorian.

The students managed data from an online poll: FIND ME NEMA - HURRICANE DORIAN. People were asked to click on link and fill out the relevant information. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/88VYQMZ…

The students took advantage of being amongst disaster managers from NEMA, the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Agency (CDEMA), PAHO-WHO and other local and international partners in disaster management.

The students were able to assist NEMA’s messaging mechanisms on NEMA-Bahamas Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter and other social media platforms. The students were able to perform such tasks on cell phones donated by Aliv, who sits on NEMA’s Communications Emergency Support Function group #2.
