On Wednesday April 29th, 2020, the Blood Bank at the Princess Margaret will stage a
national blood drive at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium. This event is being
staged as the country has reached a critically low level of blood supply. The objective of
the drive is to collect at least one hundred (100) units of blood to meet the already
growing demand. Blood donations will begin at 8am am until 5pm in the entrance lobby
of the National Stadium.
Pre-registration and appointments are required to donate. Persons can register to
donate blood by using the link https://forms.gle/MFrFiDKsnpuU6KQW9 and completing
the simple registration form. Persons can also email the PMH Blood Bank at
pmhbloodbank@gmail.com to register or click on the QR code, on the official flyer.
Once registered, donors will be given an appointment time to make their blood donation
at the National Stadium. Persons making inquiries can also call the PMH Blood Bank at
502-7822 or 322-8077.
Donors are asked to eat at least 30 minutes before donating blood and to rest for at least
ten minutes after making their donation. The Blood Bank will do pre-screening for donors
to ensure that you are healthy enough to make a blood donation. Do not attempt to
donate blood if you are coughing, have a fever or are having difficulty breathing.
The Public Hospitals Authority (PHA) and Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) wishes to
extend a special thanks to our corporate sponsors who have been enlisted as part of the
National Blood Drive, including the Friends of the Blood Bank, Aliv, Commonwealth
Brewery, Colina Insurance and the Sports Authority and National Stadium.
