The consulting services (“the Services”) include

Study/Activity Objective Anticipated Start
Coastal zone lidar study To provide an accurate topographic and bathymetric map and DEM of the coastal zone at the project site; to acquire high resolution aerial photography and ortho-rectified mosaicked imagery tiles of the project site. 2nd Quarter 2020
Shoreline change study To map historical shoreline positions along the coastline of the existing project site in order to classify the shoreline into geomorphic categories (e.g. eroding, stable, dynamic, accreting, etc.) to assist in decision making for integrated coastal risk management and climate change adaptation. 2nd Quarter 2020
Sediment transport study To provide an update baseline coastal process information that will allow them to address the risk of coastal erosion. 3rd Quarter 2020
Nearshore wave & current study To provide an update of baseline coastal process information that will allow them to address the risk of coastal erosion. The two main factors contributing to coastal erosion are: on-going or accelerated coastal structure construction; and climate change impacts, specifically rising sea levels and increasingly severe operational and hurricane wave climates. 2nd Quarter 2020
Coastal infrastructure asset inventory To ascertain the current condition and residual life of the GOBH-owned coastal infrastructure assets – which should provide a definable baseline, against which future performance or deterioration can be measured. 3rd Quarter 2020
Environmental & social baseline studies To establish an historical and current overview of the environmental features of the project site, inclusive of terrestrial, coastal and marine habitats and other parameters that can impact ecosystem health (e.g. salinity, sea temperatures); and Provide the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) with an update on the socio-economic landscape of Junkanoo Beach-Long Wharf and surrounding neighborhoods, and the current and potential impact the project will have on them.
