Job Vacancy Notice - Protocol Officer

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for appointment as PROTOCOL OFFICER within the Supreme Court of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Nassau, New Providence.

 

The successful applicant would report to The Hon. Chief Justice and the Registrar of the Supreme Court.

 

Key Responsibilities:-

  • Assisting with preparing for calls to the bar, special sittings of the Court, opening of the legal year, conferences and meetings, inclusive of securing venues, planning budgets and arranging travel and security as may be needed;
  • Assisting with organizing and overseeing Courtesy Calls to and by the Chief Justice and or Registrar;
  • Assisting with arranging activities and entertainment for guest as may be required;
  • Ensuring that Courtrooms are prepared for Call to the Bar and special sittings;
  • Ensuring that the  Chief Justice conference room is prepared for meetings and events; 
  • Ensuring that Guest are greeted and properly accommodated;
  • Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers and guests;
  • Must be available when needed;
  • Any other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, and a working  knowledge of Spanish, French or German and three (3) years relevant experience as an Assistant Protocol Officer or equivalent.

 OR

  • Possess 3 GCE ‘O’ level including English Language, some knowledge of civics and 7 years relevant experience.
  • Applicant should possess a background in the communication, budget and event planning;
  • Applicant must have knowledge of Office of the Judiciary, government officials, etiquette protocol and current events;
  • Applicant should have excellent communication skills and a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially, Word and Excel.

 

 

Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience.
