The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, through the Department of Culture, gives annual and one-time grants each year to persons and organisations for cultural ventures.


Eligibility 

Applicants must be citizens and residents of The Bahamas.

Process 
  1. Forms may be collected at the Department of Culture or the Family Island Administrators' Offices.
  2. The applicant must fill out and submit the application form, along with supporting documents to the Department of Culture.  
  3. The Department of Culture will then acknowledge receipt of the application for a cultural grant.
  4. The Ministry will review all applications.  Applications submitted without required documents will not be processed.  
  5. Applicants will be informed of approval or non-approval in writing.  
  6. Once the grant is approved, the applicant must go to the Department of Culture with national photo ID to collect the cheque.

  • Business Licence or Not-for Profit Status
  • National Insurance Card
  • Bank Account Information
  • National Photo ID (Passport)
Turn-around time 

Applications are processed within a period of one to three months
