| Assistant Accounting & Audit Officer |
- MBA, MA (relevant area) with at least one (1) year satisfactory experience as Trainee Accounting & Audit Officer.
- BSc, BA, BBA degree and a minimum of two (2) years experience as Trainee Accounting & Audit Officer.
- HND, CGA PART III accounting or equivalent and a minimum of 4-6 years experience as Trainee.
- Associate Degree (relevant area) and a minimum of 4-6 years experience as Trainee.
- Two GCE 'O' Levels BGCSE or equivalent plus 4-6 years experience as Chief Audit Clerk.

| Accounting & Audit Officer IV |
- CIA will enter Accountants Scale with salary relevant to experience.
- MBA, MA (relevant area) will enter Accountants Scale with salary relevant to experience or one year's satisfactory performance as Assistant Accounting and Audit Officer.
- BSc, BA, BBA degree and a minimum of two (2) years satisfactory service as Assistant Accounting & Audit Officer.
- Part III CGA or equivalent & 3-4 years satisfactory service as Assistant Accounting & Audit Officer.
- Associate Degree and a minimum of 4-6 years as Assistant Accounting & Audit Officer.
- Two GCE 'O' Levels BGCSE or equivalent plus 5-7 years experience as Assistant Accounting & Audit Officer.

| Accounting & Audit Officer III |
- Professional designation ACCA, CA, CPA, CGA and no post qualification accounting experience.
- CIA qualification with 2-4 years experience as Accountant.
- MBA, MA degree qualification with at least 3-5 years satisfactory service as Accountant.
- BSc. Degree with 4-6 years satisfactory service as Accountant.
- HND in Accounting and 5-7 years satisfactory service as Accountant.
- Part III CGA or equivalent and 5-7 years satisfactory service as Accountant.
- Associate Degree and 6-8 years satisfactory service as Accountant. This would be considered their final promotion.

- Persons having a minimum of 5 years relevant post qualification experience as CPA, CGA, ACCA, CA. (coming from outside of the Public Service)
- Professional designation ACCA, CA, CPA, CGA and 3-5 years experience as Accounting & Audit Officer III.
- CIA with 4-6 years experience as Accounting & Audit Officer III et al.
- MBA, MA with 3-5 years experience as Accounting & Audit Officer III et al.
- BSc, BA, BBA with at least 6-8 years as Accounting & Audit Officer III et al.
- HND, CGA PART III with at least of 7-9 years experience as Accounting & Audit Officer III et al.

- Persons must have at least 11 years relevant post Professional qualifications CGA, CPA, ACCA, CA. (Persons coming from outside the Public Service).
- Professional qualification CGA, CPA, ACCA, CA with at least 2-5 years as Assistant Auditor General.
- CIA or equivalent with at least 5-7 years as Assistant Auditor General.
- Masters in Accounting or equivalent with 6-8 years experience as Assistant Auditor General.

| Senior Deputy Auditor General |
- Persons should have at least 13 years relevant experience post professional qualification at a very senior level. (Persons coming from outside the Public Service).
- Professional qualification CGA, CPA, ACCA, CA with at least 3-7 years experience as Deputy Auditor General et al.

| Auditor General |
- CPA, CA, CGA, ACCA with other recognized professional qualification, extensive knowledge of and experience in government accounting.
