NASSAU, The Bahamas – The Bahamas will host the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Conference and Exhibition, October 17-21, 2022.
The conference will be held at Atlantis Resort and will bring together relevant stakeholders to discuss topics including the issues of masks and disposal of masks, plastics, and solid waste. The theme for the event is “Recovery & Evolution – Regional Actions for Global Sustainability in the Water and Waste Sectors”.
Chairman of the Board of the Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC), Sylvanus Petty announced plans for the 31st conference, Monday, August 15, at the corporation’s headquarters, University Drive.
The Chairman said sustainable water and water sources remain an issue throughout the region. “Our only true way forward is not just taking an inter-sectoral approach but also involving the private sector, academia and of course the general public.
“This year we have amped up our involvement with a robust commitment plan that includes funding, training opportunities and the mobilization of resources to support the events,” he said.
Chairman Petty noted that commitments have been secured by key regional and international partners and it is anticipated that the conference will have many “actionable” and “practical” outcomes.
Marlon Daniels, President of Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) said it is the first in-person conference post COVID-19. He acknowledged the management of WSC, The Bahamas government and its people for agreeing to host the conference.
“We look forward to the exhibitors and delegates. We are hosting all of the ministers of water in the Caribbean and the exhibitors of waste. The tradition of the conference is high-level sessions for ministers of water.”

Established in 1991, CWWA is a regional non-governmental organization comprising a grouping of water, wastewater and solid waste professionals in public and private sectors.
