An integral part of the BNGIS Centre’s operations is the promotion and advancement of GIS throughout the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. Particular focus is the Centre’s investment in our youth and efforts to improve GIS literacy in the school system. The challenge is that there are many students in schools located throughout The Bahamas that we must inspire to learn about and use GIS in the classroom. Our approach is one Island at a time and so far the Centre has initiated its mission on the Islands of New Providence, Abaco, Moore's Island, Andros and Great Inagua.

 

Over the years Corporate Bahamas as well as international organizations (groups and individuals) have appreciated our annual drive to empower students with GIS skills, tools and experiences that can make positive impacts on the way we think, play and work..
