On Wednesday, November 15, 2005 the BNGIS Centre celebrated GIS Day with a variety of activities under the theme "GIS Technology In and Around The Bahamas". This event provided an opportunity for organizations to promote the use of GIS and associated technologies.
 

2005 GIS DAY Celebrations was a segment of the The BNGIS Centre first Bahamas GIS User Conference, Nassau Beach Hotel, New Providence (for more details see the conference section of our website). The event proved to be a success as national and international presenters and exhibitors were present.
 

Additionally, The BNGIS Centre along with other international agencies was featured in The ESRI Newsletter ArcNews Winter 2005/2006 Volume 27 Number 4 under an article titled Hosting a Successful Event GIS Day 2006. (The article above is an excerpt from ArcNews Winter 2005/2006).
