ANDROS STAKEHOLDER CONSULTATION &
BOUNDARY VERIFICATION
FOR THE NATIONAL FOREST ESTATE OF THE BAHAMAS

The general public is hereby notified that the Forestry Unit in the Ministry of The Environment & Housing will be holding town meetings, and conducting Crown Land boundary verification exercises for the National Forest Estate on Andros during the period of 18th - 30th July, 2016. The Forestry Act 2010, Part III, Section 6, 7, and 8 mandates the declaration of three (3) classification of Forest on Crown Lands: Conservation Forests, Forest Reserves, and Protected Forests as the proposed National Forest Estate.

The public will be informed on the significance of protecting important forests lands comprising mangroves, coppice, and pine forests, matters related to the Andros Straw Vendors Association, and wild birds hunting in The Bahamas. The dates and venues for the public town meetings are as follows:

Thursday 21st July 2016 at 6:30pm to 8:30pm:
     Clarence A Bain Building-Meeting Hall, Central Andros/Fresh Creek, Andros

Tuesday 26th July 2016 at 6:30pm to 8:30pm:
     Nicholls Town Administrator’s Office, North Andros, Andros
