Infrasturcture

From air and sea access to voice and data communications, The Bahamas boasts an infrastructure engineered for economic development.
Various international and regional airlines provide service to strategic destinations in Europe, North and South America and the Caribbean from The Bahamas’ six major airports. Bahamasair, the national airline, has regularly scheduled flights across the island chain and to Florida.

Access By Sea

Twenty-three seaports span The Bahamas, facilitating regular shipping connections to the Americas and Europe. The ports in Nassau and Freeport are major international transshipment centres, servicing both tourism and commerce. Expansion of the Freeport Harbour, a focal point of the 200 square mile Freeport free trade zone, was completed in 1998, making Freeport a state-of-the-art container transshipment terminal.

World Class Telecommunications

The telecommunications sector is built upon a digital backbone to support consistent and quality international connections. With a wide range of telecommunications and Internet Service Providers, The Bahamas delivers the reliability, performance and bandwidth availability for basic to complex voice, Internet and data applications.
