The Bahamas Apprenticeship Program is a nationwide apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship training program created to teach the skills needed to obtain quality jobs in high-growth industries in The Bahamas.
The Bahamas Apprenticeship Program is part of the Skills for Current and Future Jobs in The Bahamas program, a partnership between the Government of The Bahamas and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). It was created to improve the employability of Bahamians and increase access to quality jobs in The Bahamas.
The Skills for Current and Future Jobs in The Bahamas program will develop local skills through three components:
- Implementing the Bahamas Apprenticeship Program for people between the ages of 16-40 years old
- Increasing the ability of job seekers to access quality local jobs
- Implementing measurement tools to effectively assess the performance of the local labour market
