Note:

  1. Hazard and duty / overtime allowances have been incorporated into the basic salary figures.
  2. Tests will be administered at the proficiency points in specific scales.
  3. Examinations will be administered to assess suitability for promotion from Sergeant to Inspector. This will be to determine knowledge of policing, police legislation, general knowledge, supervisory ability, etc...
  4. Serving officers who entered the force at the rank of Inspector should be tested before promotion to Chief Inspector. Examination should particularly assess the officer's knowledge of policing, etc...
  5. Examination will be administered to assess suitability for promotion from Chief Inspector to Assistant Superintendent. They will be similar to (3), but at a higher level. Officers should also have taken a general duty course in The United Kingdom.
  6. Examination will be administered to test suitability for promotion from Chief Superintendent to Assistant Commissioner. This will be a very high level examination and interviews should be conducted by a panel consisting of:
    1. Secretary to The Cabinet
    2. Police Service Commission
    3. Commissioner of Police
