BTVI launches its presidential search

NASSAU, The Bahamas -- The Ministry of Education and Technical & Vocational Training in conjunction with The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) held a press conference at the ministry’s head offices Friday, November 25, 2022 to announce the search for its new president.

Minister of Education and Technical & Vocational Training, the Hon. Glenys Hanna-Martin said “education is the key to national growth and the advancement of the country.”

BTVI's obtaining a president fitting the criteria listed is very important: According to a list of criteria in a release, the new president will ideally be a Bahamian citizen, will preferably possess an earned terminal degree (highest level attained in the field) from a recognized and accredited institution of higher learning.

Will have at least ten years of senior leadership/administrative experience in progressively more responsible positions, with a strong record of achievement, preferably having achieved this experience in an institution of higher education.

All applicants should be familiar with educational systems in the British Commonwealth (including The Bahamas and the Caribbean) and in North America.

Applications are being accepted until December 31, 2022.
