Birthday and Anniversary Congratulatory Letters

 

Through the Governor-General, Her Majesty the Queen will be pleased to send congratulatory messages to Bahamian citizens celebrating their 100th birthday, and to married couples on their 50th and 60thwedding anniversary. In order to receive such messages, requests should be sent to the Secretary to the Governor-General and must include the following:

  1. Full name(s) of the person(s) to whom the message is to be sent
  2. Full address at which the message is to be delivered, whether home or otherwise
  3. Date and place of birth or marriage, accompanied by a copy of the birth certificate in the case of centenarians to verify name and age.

For the above mentioned wedding anniversaries, copies of the relevant birth certificate and the marriage certificate are to be submitted.
 

The first four pages of the passport may be used as proof of age in cases where the birth certificate is not available.
 

Requests are to be addressed to the Secretary to the Governor-General whose office will forward them to Her Majesty the Queen. It is recommended that these requests be submitted at least four weeks in advance of the date of the celebration.
