Healthy Workplace Suggestions
  1. Provide healthy lunches during staff meetings.
  2. Posters in the kitchen reminding staff of health and nutritional needs.
  3. Daily water intake chart; reminders to drink more water.
  4. Include health tips in the Newsletter.
  5. Word-search or crossword puzzle on healthy lifestyle in Newsletter.
  6. “Take the stairs” posters or no elevator day.
  7. Start a fresh fruit snack basket.
  8. Five, ten or fifteen minutes of physical activity can pay off during training days and important meetings. Activity helps relieve tension and boosts brainpower, too!
  9. Plan to “meet and eat” with health in mind.
  10. Establish easy guidelines for foods and beverages brought or bought for office meetings.
  11. Invite people to share their best tasting, healthiest recipes.
  12. Get a walking group going.
  13. Offer regular office “health day” activities.
  14. Add art in the stairwells.
  15. Email motivational health messages.
  16. Create health-enhancing challenges.
  17. Put up a basketball hoop.
  18. Schedule and promote wellness activities.
  19. Secure “Lunch and Learn” speakers on key health issues.
  20. Supply wellness literature and materials for use in the workplace.
  21. Plan and promote corporate special events, such as health fairs, family day activities.
  22. Provide displays and brochure rack with healthy lifestyle resources.
  23. Encourage healthy food choices through a focus on reduce fat, calories, portion control and nutrition in your cafeteria.
  24. Create and maintain a positive environment to reduce stress.
  25. Create a wellness programme like the Healthy Dozen Club.
  26. Utilize the Passport for Living.
