Rehabilitation, Treatment and Substance Abuse Services

Upon the admission and classification process sentenced inmates are assigned to participate in Rehabilitative Programs which included Substance Abuse Therapy and Substance Abuse Education.
 

In 2016 Substance Abuse Therapy program held 43 sessions, three (3) hours weekly.
 

Inmates assigned to the Substance Abuse Education program received psycho-education for three(3) modules over thirty six (36) weeks . At the end of 2016 a total of forty-one (41) inmates participated in both groups.
 

A Substance Abuse Psycho-Education programme is also available for inmates housed at the Remand Centre and Central Intake Units. This is an open group of a maximum of 20 inmates. However, because this group is open to remanded inmates it has no completion date and the numbers of participants fluctuate due to inmates being discharged and new admissions.
