251 Migrants Repartriated

On Tuesday, 31st January, 2023 three (3) repatriation exercises were successfully executed by the Immigration Department totaling two hundred fifty-one (251) persons being removed from the country. 

 

Firstly, at approximately 9:33 a.m., a Bahamasair chartered flight UP901 departed New Providence for Port-Au-Prince, Haiti with eighty-three (83) Haitian Nationals onboard; fifty-nine (59) males, twelve (12) females and twelve (12) minors. 

 

Additionally, at 1:32 p.m., a Bahamasair chartered flight UP903 departed Matthew Town, Inagua for Port-Au-Prince, Haiti with one hundred thirty (130) Haitian Nationals onboard; twenty-six (26) males, seventy-seven (77) females and twenty-seven (27) minors. 

 

Lastly, at approximately 4:16 p.m., a Bahamasair flight UP211 departed New Providence for Havana, Cuba with thirty-eight (38) Cuban Nationals onboard; thirty-one (31) males and seven (7) females. 

 

The Departments Deportation and Enforcement Units led the escorts and all security and health protocols were observed as the safety and welfare of our officers, law enforcement counterparts and migrants remain the highest priority.
