The Surveillance Unit of the Ministry of Health & Wellness would like to advise the general public that due to the increasing numbers of positive cases of COVID-19 being reported over the last several days, the Contact Tracing has implemented additional methods to contact persons that would have tested positive for COVID-19.

Beginning today - Saturday, 1st January, 2022, the Surveillance Unit will contact individuals via SMS messaging, notifying them that their results have been reported to the Ministry of Health & Wellness. This message will contain instructions to follow while in quarantine and a link to a form where additional information will be collected, including the contact information of persons who may have been exposed to the positive person over the past two days before testing. A second message will be sent to provide telephone numbers to contact for further information and to answer any questions.

The Ministry of Health & Wellness wishes you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year and reminds you to stay safe as we continue to navigate this COVID-19 pandemic for a third calendar year.
