Once a decision is made to terminate or cease business operations for a period of time, a business owner is required to apply to the BLU to cease the business.
Existing Business Owner:

- Privately Trading companies
- Publicly Trading companies
- Limited Liability Partnerships
- Limited Liability Company
- Sole- Proprietorships
- Home Based Businesses
- Complete the Business Licence Registration Form A
- Submit supporting documentation to indicate why the business is no longer in operation or active.
- Surrender the current and original Business Licence Certificate.
- A Business Licence Processing Officer will update the system to reflect the business licence status change.
Registering a business name - Business Registration Form A
- Current Business Licence Certificate
- Payment receipt for outstanding fees
- Photo ID, passport
Once an application form and all supporting documents have been submitted, it is processed within seven working days. Note that the Secretary for Revenue has fourteen day to review the details before making a decision. There are no deadlines for this service.
There is no fee associated with this service.
