PMH BLESSING AND COMMISSIONING CEREMONY OF THE PATIENT SCHEDULING UNIT

The Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) hosted a brief ceremony marking the relocation of the Patient Scheduling Unit on Wednesday August 10th, 2022. The newly renovated area on the second floor of the PMH Ambulatory Block was officially commissioned to serve as the home of the Patient Scheduling Unit Services.

Department Coordinator, Angelica Lockhart-Bastian, officially cut the ribbon following a blessing ceremony attended by the Hospital Administrator, Ms. Mary Walker and other hospital executives and staff, and led by Rev Sebastian Campbell.
The Scheduling Unit was brought online in 2020 to assist patients with scheduling and rescheduling outpatient appointments for specialty clinics and services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ms. Lockhart-Bastian noted, “The role of the Scheduling Unit is to facilitate appointments for new patient referrals, discharged patients, and follow up for all outpatient clinics at the hospital. This area provides weekly clinic schedules for the various areas and conducts confirmation calls for the patients with upcoming appointments. They also contact patients to advise of any clinic cancelations prior to the appointment which will add to the overall patient centric care”.

Patients seeking appointments for PMH Specialty Clinics should contact the Scheduling Unit by sending a clear photo of their referral or discharge letter via WhatsApp at 242.808.9972, or by email at appointments@pmh.bahamas.org. The Unit’s hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.
