The Cabinet Office wishes to advise the general public that Monday December 27th, 2021 and Monday January 3rd, 2022 will be observed as Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. As a result, stores wishing to do so may open for business on this holiday during normal business hours.
Employers are to note, however, that employees who are normally not required to work on holidays, must be paid wages in accordance with section 10 (a) of the Employment Act.
