Minister of Health & Wellness the Honourable Dr. Michael R. Darville today welcomed the newly appointed Honorary Consul for The Bahamas in Guyana Mr. Azzarudeen Haniffe. Mr. Haniffe was joined by his wife in what marked his first visit with the Health & Wellness Minister.

During the Courtesy Call Minister Darville provided Mr. Haniffe a snapshot of the challenges and successes in our health system, noting that the country’s relationship with its Caribbean neighbors has provided the opportunity for personnel support during challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Haniffe for his part said he looked forward to exchanges between his country Guyana and The Bahamas all in the name of progress and the betterment of our people.
