It was today announced from Government House that His Majesty The King has been pleased to confer upon the Chief Justice, His Lordship the Honourable Sir Ian Winder, the award of Knight Bachelor, in recognition of his stellar contributions to the Legal and Judicial System of The Bahamas as Crown Counsel, Office of the Attorney General, Acting Stipendiary and Circuit Magistrate, Tutor & Associate Tutor, Council of Legal Education, Justice of the Supreme Court and his recent elevation on 5th August, 2022 to the Nation’s highest Judicial Office as Chief Justice of The Bahamas.
His Excellency, The Most Honourable Sir Cornelius A. Smith, O.N., GCMG, is pleased to advise that His Majesty King Charles has graciously recognized the outstanding services and contributions to the People of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and on the occasion of 2023 New Year Honours has conferred the Chivalry of Award:
