NASSAU, Bahamas, March 1, 2023: Director General Latia Duncombe of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation (BMOTIA) will lead The Bahamas delegation to Berlin, Germany to participate in the International Tourism Exchange (ITB), the world’s largest tourism trade forum, scheduled to take place 7-9 March. The Bahamas delegation includes members of BMOTIA, representatives of the three promotion boards, hotels and resorts, and local tour operators.

Over three intensive days of the tourism trade show, representatives of The Bahamas tourism and hospitality sector will showcase in grand style the appeal of The Islands of The Bahamas to thousands of travel trade professionals and will engage in one-on-one-meetings with some of the biggest global tour operators and other industry professionals to expand and negotiate new travel business to the Islands.

“Our destination has been participating in ITB for many years,” said Director General Duncombe. “This year, all the major players of our tourism industry will be in Berlin on a mission to showcase in the international travel trade that The Bahamas is the top destination for memorable vacations. “  “In 2022, we made huge strides in tourism recovery, coming in close to rival our pre-pandemic numbers of 2019; at ITB, we will be making the strategic connections to drive new business and to increase business from our present partners in Europe and from around the world,“ added Duncombe.  

ITB is the world’s largest tourism trade show and features more than 10,000 exhibitors, representing all sectors of international travel trade: countries, destinations, tour operators, booking systems, transport providers, and hotels. After a three-year break due to the pandemic, ITB returns this year as an in -person event under the slogan, “Open for Change”.
