NASSAU, The Bahamas --  The Urban Renewal Team in Collaboration with G.R.I.P,  Da Brotherhood, and Prison Fellowship Bahamas on Wednesday Hosted a Peace Prayer Walk, Rally, & 'Grill n Chill' with Band Showcase,  under the theme 'Taking our Streets Back,' in the Centerville Community.

In keeping with the 2022 Policing Plan, specifically Priorities 3 and 9 which highlight the value of Transformative Community Policing and Meaningful Youth Engagement as tools of crime preclusion, the Urban Renewal Division of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, in collaboration with the Gang Resistance and Intervention Program (G.R.I.P.), The Brotherhood, and Prison Fellowship Bahamas held this third such event in a series of walkabouts and rallies by this collaborative group -- with the objective to offer prayers for the nation, foster positive relations between law enforcement agencies and the community, and enlighten persons on the services offered by Urban Renewal, G.R.I.P., The Brotherhood, and Prison Fellowship Bahamas.

Through their efforts, young people are recruited for the Urban Renewal Revolutionized Band and the Urban Renewal Crime Intervention Junkanoo Program, allowing them to be engaged in constructive activities and exposed to positive mentorship, all-the-while learning life-long skills in music and cultural art forms.   (BIS Photos/Mark Ford)
