NASSAU, Bahamas (2 Dec. 2022) - The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation (BMOTIA) today announced a new partnership with ET Canada to produce a series of two to three-minute segments which will shine a spotlight on various aspects of the Bahamian vacation experience.  These interludes will feature the cuisine, the culture, the activities and the beaches of this top Caribbean destination to millions of Canadians.

“We’re beyond excited about this opportunity to work with ET Canada to produce engaging content about the islands we love so much,” said Latia Duncombe, Acting Director General. “We are eager to introduce ET Canada’s audience to the wonderful Bahamian experience and to share the richness of The Bahamas. ET Canada has a huge following, and this format really gives us an opportunity to capture our incredible diversity and the warmth of our people.”

The filming of the series began 30 Nov. and is expected to continue until 7 Dec. A crew from ET Canada is on location in Nassau, Paradise Island, and will visit Freeport, Grand Bahama.  ET Canada’s production crew collaborated with BMOTIA to curate a robust itinerary that reflects the personalities of people like Tony Hanna, the King of Conch and world-renowned proprietor of Tony’s Conch Experience; Marv Cunningham, Mr. Mix-It, mixologist extraordinaire; as well as Arlene Nash-Ferguson, an expert on Bahamian culture and traditions at the Educulture Junkanoo Museum and Resource Centre.

Viewers can expect to be transported to a compelling tropical world, a white-sand wonderland complete with tranquil inland lagoons, cozy coves and vibrant wildlife sanctuaries. Each segment is intended to be educational as well as entertaining, highlighting not only the most luxurious spas, awesome tours and sprawling resorts, but also important cultural celebrations and sustainability initiatives.
In addition to television, the segments will also be posted on etcanada.com as well as their YouTube channel, amplified to over 1.16 million subscribers. An accompanying digital media campaign on Facebook and Instagram will further drive engagement with the content across multiple platforms.

Getting to The Bahamas from Montreal, Calgary or Toronto this winter is easier than ever, with direct, nonstop flights to Nassau, George Town and Freeport now available. The route is serviced by WestJet, Air Canada and Sunwing, with the latter launching a new flight from Toronto to Freeport on 17 Dec.
