NASSAU, The Bahamas -- Representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank Energy Mission from Washington D.C. and the European Union are in The Bahamas to review ongoing works for various solar projects. During their stay from from January 16 - 20, the team will visit various sites on New Providence, including The Battery Energy Storage System (on construction); C.I. Gibson Senior High School and T.G. Glover Primary.

An opening team meeting, chaired by Consultant at the Office of the Prime Minister, Marco Rolle, was held in the Ruth Millar Room at the Office of the Prime Minister on Monday, 16th January 2023.  A Steering Committee of a cross-sectìon of government agencies meets regularly to propel the IDB's 'Reconstruction with Resilience in the Energy Sector in the Bahamas' that aims for 30% renewable energy deployment by 2030 in the nation -- made possible by $80 million IDB loan and $9 million EU grant.

The team will visit Abaco, Wednesday, to view reconstruction works of the Transmission & Distribution systems. 

The IDB Mission Includes Roberto Aiello, Project Team Leader; Serge-Henri Troch, Lead Environmental Safeguards Specialist; Che Stewart, Senior Environmental Specialist; August Bonzi, Energy Specialist; Irati Jiminez, Energy Technical Analyst, and team members in Nassau, including Alberto Elizalde, Energy Senior Consultant; Ana Paz, Procurement Specialist; Nilda Morales, Financial Specialist and Anthonique Hanna, Operations Associate.
