NASSAU, The Bahamas -- The 50th Independence Commission held, as part of its commemorative 1973 Masterclass Series, 'The Life and Legacy of Sir Lynden Pindling,' Friday evening, March 24, 2023 at the Grand Ballroom, Baha Mar Resort.

The event was a tribute to the accomplishments of the late Sir Lynden Pindling, leader of the historic 1967 Majority Rule Cabinet, and the first Prime Minister of an independent Bahamas.

The presentation was one of many events slated in recognition of the country’s 50th Anniversary of Independence this year.

Family, friends, colleagues, and government officials of the audience were treated to celebration of Sir Lynden's life and legacy through music, speeches, and commentary from those who knew him well.  Special guests, his family -- his wife, Dame Marguerite Pindling, and their children -- are pictured in the audience, and on stage saying a few words with respect to Sir Lynden as family man, former prime minister, and legend.
