FREEPORT, Grand Bahama, The Bahamas – The Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture is focused on equipping youth leaders to bring out the best in the country’s youth, the Hon. Mario Bowleg, Minister responsible said during the Youth Leader Certification Programme graduation ceremony at Grand Lucayan resort, December 10, 2022 during which 50 youth leaders graduated after 14 weeks of training.

The Minister advised the graduates that it is their responsibility to help young people in their communities and ensure that they reach their full potential.

It is the commitment of the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture, he continued, to equip youth leaders with the tools to impact the youth of the country. The programme was designed to equip people to have a positive impact on the youth of the nation.

“The Youth Leader Certification Programme is one of the ways the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture provides support and counsel for those on the frontline of youth development.

“Even though my Ministry leads the charge on youth development, there are entities who have partnered with us and we are indeed grateful for them.” He then recognized the Ministry of Social Services and Urban Development which has had many staff members enroll and complete the programme.

To the 50 graduates, he said: “you have sacrificed time and energy and countess study hours as well as hard work.  Dedication has brought you to this point.”
