NASSAU, The Bahamas -- While addressing the Press Conference after the Closing Ceremony of the Caribbean Regional Heads of Government Meeting in Preparation for the United Nations Climate Change Conference of The Parties 27 (COP 27), on August 17, 2022, Prime Minister of The Bahamas and Minister of Finance the Hon. Philip Davis said that The Bahamas was pleased to have been able to host that first conference, to ensure that the nations in the region had, at least, the chance to explore what their differences and issues were, and how to best put forward "a united front".

"I am cautiously optimistic of the outcome of these proceedings," Prime Minister Davis said.  "That caution is 'hoisted' primarily because (of) what we could expect or not expect at COP27."
