Emirates Airline Signs Memorandum of Understanding with The Bahamas

NASSAU, Bahamas: 24, January 2022 - The Bahamas is set to tap into a new market in the   United Arab Emirates (UAE) as Emirates Airline, on 21 January 2022, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Bahamas to develop tourism initiatives. 

 

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group and the Hon. Frederick A. Mitchell, M.P., Minister of Foreign Affairs and Public Service of The Bahamas, at Emirates Group Headquarters in Dubai. Also present at the signing were Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer; Salem Obaidalla, Emirates’ Senior VP of Commercial Operations for the Americas; and Tony Joudi, Ambassador of The Bahamas to the United Arab Emirates.

 

Emirates will promote The Bahamas as a tourism destination across its global network, including developing increased connectivity to Nassau Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) from American gateways through its codeshare and interline partners.

 

Deputy Prime Minister the Honourable I. Chester Cooper, Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, commented on The Bahamas’ further expansion into the global market, “I am pleased to see increased promotion of our destination in global markets. Emirates will make The Bahamas more accessible to the UAE and neighbouring nations, inviting new visitors to our country.  The Bahamas continues to rebound and will surely exceed all previous records.”

 

The MoU will offer travel packages inclusive of flights and hotels through Emirates Holiday, the Dubai-based tour company affiliate of Emirates Airline. Emirates customers can currently travel to The Bahamas via connecting flights through Toronto, Newark, New York and Boston.
